Turbocharger Heat Shield
Turbocharger Heat Shield
Stainless steel heat shield that fits all Garrett GT-R midframe-sized ball bearing turbochargers (ex: GT3582R, GT30R, etc).
Design minimizes radiant heat from the turbine housing to protect sensitive surrounding components -- like the ignition distributor and expensive rear center reflector on the 930/911 Turbo.
NOW AVAILABLE FOR K27 TURBOCHARGERS:
* K27-7200 as used in 1991-94 964 Turbos (bolt spacing approx. 45mm)
* K27-7006 as used in 1980s 930-S/SE and many Ruf BTR engines (bolt spacing approx. 60mm)
Note:
We've tried fabric-style "turbo blanket" heat shields from several companies. Their fibers made from Kevlar / lava / pumice / stainless / titanium / whatever are advertised to last forever.
Nope.
Park in the garage after a good weekend drive, and the next morning there's a small pile of dusty, brittle fibers on the floor beneath the turbocharger.
Only a metal shield holds up to the heat of an air-cooled engine.
