TurboKraft Equal-Length 911 Turbo Headers

These are the highest-performing headers made for your 911 Turbo.
TurboKraft tests and evaluates all products on both the dynamometer and road, and these headers consistently out-perform all others on the market.
Successfully proven on engines making over 700hp at the wheels.
Fits all 911 Turbos 1976-1989.
964 Turbo no-heat version available now; version with heat available soon.

Highlights:

  • All stainless steel construction
  • Equal-length primary pipes, equal secondaries
  • 3-piece construction with v-band clamps -- easy installation, easy repairs
  • 3-into-1 merge collectors
  • Divided collector into turbocharger -- reduces turbulence
  • Flex bellows in crossover -- allows for engine expansion and contraction
  • Wastegate circuit on high pressure side of secondary pipes -- maximizes flow, eliminates boost creep
  • Wastegate in stock location -- works with existing wastegate/muffler packages
  • Heat exchangers, with clamp-on inlet & outlet pipes

Available with or without heat exchangers.

Also available without a wastegate circuit, for:
·  adding 2x small wastegates on a true twin-scroll application
·  turbocharger applications with an integrated wastegate

Why equal-length headers?

Equal length primary pipes ensure equal airflow and backpressure between each of the 3x cylinder heads and an exhaust collector, allowing those cylinders to operate with equivalent loads vs. using headers with different length primaries.  The engine is then working in a more balanced manner, all cylinders equally.

Equal length secondary pipes between the collectors and the turbocharger continue this, ensuring even engine loads bank-to-bank, left (1-3) vs. right (4-6).

Plus, when all the loads are balanced, you can hear it in the exhaust tone:  the engine has a fantastic smooth “tuned” sound.

History:

Equal-length headers aren’t a new idea.  The factory's early long-tube non-turbo headers had equal length primary pipes, as did the headers on many of their competition cars, ex:  SC/RS, 956/962, some of the 993GT2 variants, etc.

Similar “930” equal-length racing headers were developed by a talented fabricator (looking at you, JH) in the ‘90s at MODE:  symmetrical primaries left/right to simplify fabrication, numerous double-slip joints to allow for expansion/contraction, and a divided turbine flange.  They were very good, but usually too large for use on a street engine, and they were not easily available.  Now they are long out of production.

Another company produced similar headers, but with shortcomings:  single-slip joints that leaked, the turbocharger flange at an incorrect position and angle, the wastegate in a non-stock location, etc.

TurboKraft took these designs and incorporated numerous refinements and improvements, making them ideal for street and club racing use.

Need something special, additional customization?
Because we are the manufacturer, we can usually accommodate custom requests, including:

  • larger or smaller tubing sizes – for larger or smaller displacement engines
  • twin-scroll with dual wastegates
  • 993-fitment applications
  • different turbine flanges – ex: T04, v-band (Garrett and Xona/Tial equivalent
  • 934-style center-mount turbo
  • 935-style rear-mounted twin turbos
